Lift Repairs and Emergency Call-outs Across Ireland
Honest Elevator Company Limited provides responsive lift fault diagnosis, repairs and emergency support for passenger lifts, goods lifts and platform lifts across Ireland.
Our multi-brand engineers assess the cause of each fault and recommend the appropriate repair based on the condition, age, usage and long-term requirements of the equipment.
Lift Breakdown Support
A lift breakdown can disrupt access, business operations and the safe movement of people or goods within a building. HEC supports customers with fault diagnosis, passenger-release attendance and lift repairs.
When reporting a breakdown, please provide the building address, lift identification details and a clear description of the problem. This helps us determine the appropriate response and prepare the attending engineer.
If someone is trapped inside a lift, use the lift’s emergency communication system and contact the emergency number displayed within the lift car.
Multi-Brand Lift Repairs
HEC works on lifts and associated equipment from a wide range of manufacturers. As an independent lift company, we assess the equipment on its condition and technical requirements rather than restricting recommendations to one manufacturer’s product range.
Repair work may include:
-
Lift door and door-operator repairs
-
Landing-door equipment and interlock repairs
-
Control-system fault diagnosis
-
Drive and motor faults
-
Hydraulic lift repairs
-
Pumps, valves, seals and hydraulic components
-
Suspension and lifting equipment
-
Buttons, indicators and communication devices
-
Safety-circuit faults
-
Levelling and ride-quality issues
-
Emergency auto-dialler installation or replacement
-
Testing and recommissioning following repair work
A Clear Repair Process
We aim to make the repair process clear from the initial report through to completion.
-
The fault or breakdown is reported to HEC.
-
We collect the available lift and site information.
-
An engineer attends and carries out an initial assessment.
-
Where possible and authorised, the lift is returned to service safely.
-
If further work or replacement parts are required, we prepare a repair recommendation.
-
Approved work is planned, completed and recorded.
-
The lift is tested before being returned to normal service.
A lift will not be returned to service where an unresolved condition could affect safe operation.
Planned Repairs and Component Replacement
Not every lift fault requires an emergency response. HEC also undertakes planned corrective work identified during maintenance visits, inspections or technical assessments.
Planning repairs before a component fails can reduce disruption and allow work, parts and site access to be coordinated more effectively. Where repeated failures indicate a wider problem, we may recommend a technical assessment or modernisation rather than continuing with short-term repairs.
Passenger Release and Emergency Communication
Passenger-release procedures must prioritise the safety of the people inside the lift. Untrained persons should not attempt to open lift doors or release passengers.
HEC can also assess lift emergency communication systems and recommend suitable replacement or upgrade options where existing equipment is unreliable, obsolete or no longer appropriate for the building.
Repair or Modernise?
A repair may be the right solution where the fault is isolated and suitable replacement parts remain available. Modernisation may be more appropriate where equipment is obsolete, unreliable or experiencing repeated failures.
Our recommendation considers:
-
The cause and frequency of faults
-
Equipment age and overall condition
-
Availability of replacement components
-
Reliability and operational requirements
-
Accessibility needs
-
Energy performance
-
The likely value of continued repairs compared with an upgrade
We explain the available options so the building owner, facilities manager or property manager can make an informed decision.
